This is a non-standard way of viewing waveforms, and isn’t the best for pocketing and editing. Some engineers prefer a rectified view when they’re working with lots of audio tracks on the screen at once, as it allows them to see more of the waveform by summing the positive and negative sides together. It really doesn’t work best for editing though, so leave it off. Really, most of the other preferences under the Display tab are relatively harmless. You can turn on your Tool Tips Display, or not, and choose to have marker colors or not.
