Schroer finds positive features in Proverbs. In response to those who suggest that personified Wisdom serves as a figure to bind women into a patriarchal system she points out the significance of the fact that Wisdom 44 45 46 47 48 never appears as a motherly figure, the crucial role for women from a patriarchal perspective. Schroer thinks Wisdom provides a constructive image for women, as able to promote change. She sees personified Wisdom as in some sense a representation of Yahweh, and therefore providing a helpful feminine aspect of God.
